Cashmere Ponchos

Our cashmere ponchos are knitted from 100% Mongolian cashmere in fine 2-ply Nm 2/26 yarn. The cashmere comes from Inner Mongolia, from a mill we have worked with for 22 years. A poncho is an easy way to wear cashmere: it goes on over a fine knit or a shirt, keeps your shoulders and arms warm, and does not have the close fit of a jumper.

Three styles

The Poncho with Sleeves gives you the drape of a poncho with real sleeves, so it stays in place when you reach for a bag or a cup of coffee. It comes in Grey Mix, in sizes S to XXL; a size that is not in stock can be made to order. It is cut differently from our standard sizes, so the size guide is just a starting point; ask us for exact measurements or try it on in the shop.

The Button Poncho is one size and comes in seven colours: Beige, Light Grey, Cream, Hot Pink, Red, Black and Navy Blue. You can wear it as a poncho, as a shrug, or simply wrapped around you.

The Two Colour Poncho comes in three colourways: Burgundy-Black, Blue-Black and Mix Grey.

Sizing differs from style to style, so see each poncho for sizing, or contact us and we will give you the measurements.

How to wear a poncho

Wear it over a fine knit or a shirt with jeans or slim trousers. A poncho is good for winter and for travel, because it packs flat in a bag and goes over most of what you already own.

If you would rather a wrap

Some people who look for a poncho end up choosing a wrap. Our Pure Cashmere Lady's Scarf is 180 x 45 cm, wide enough to wear as a light wrap, and comes in ten colours. For something larger, the check shawl scarf in 60% Australian wool and 40% cashmere is 200 x 70 cm and made in Australia. You can see more in our cashmere scarves collection.

Colours, care and trying one on

All three ponchos can be knitted to order in other colours and sizes, ready to ship about three weeks after we confirm the order; see our Custom Color page. To care for a poncho, hand wash it cool with a gentle wool and cashmere wash, or dry clean it. Never wring it; roll it in a towel and dry it flat in the shade, and store it folded, not hung.

You are welcome to try the ponchos on at our shop in The Glen, Glen Waverley. Click and collect at The Glen is free, and unused items with tags attached can be exchanged within 14 days.
