Cashmere Scarves
Cashmere scarves from our family shop in The Glen, Glen Waverley: two in 100% cashmere, and three that blend cashmere with silk or wool. Each product page gives the fibre content.
Pure cashmere
The women's Pure Cashmere Scarf is 180 x 45 cm, in 10 colours, wide enough to wear as a light wrap. The men's scarf, in 100% Mongolian cashmere, is 160 x 33 cm, in 6 colours, a size that sits neatly under a coat collar. Our cashmere comes from Inner Mongolia, from a mill we have worked with for 22 years. If the colour you want is not listed, both scarves can be made to order in about three weeks; see our Custom Color page.
Cashmere blends
The 50% cashmere, 50% silk scarf is 170 x 45 cm, in four colourways, and is easy to wear over a dress or a qipao. The 40% cashmere, 60% wool scarf is 170 x 34 cm, in four colours, for men and women. The largest piece is an oversized check shawl scarf in 60% Australian wool and 40% cashmere, 200 x 70 cm, made in Australia.
Which one to choose
Start with how you will wear it. To tuck inside a coat, the narrower 33 to 34 cm scarves are easiest. To wrap over the shoulders, choose a 45 cm width or the 200 x 70 cm shawl. If you want all cashmere, choose one of the two pure scarves; the blends cost less and still put cashmere next to your skin.
Looking after it
Hand wash in cool water with a gentle wool and cashmere wash (a mild silk wash for the silk blend), or dry clean. Never wring, dry flat in the shade, do not tumble dry, and store folded. The full steps are on our Cashmere Care page.
Delivery is free in Australia on orders over $99, click and collect at The Glen is free, and gift wrapping is $25. For gift ideas, see our Christmas gift guide.
Questions
Are these scarves 100% cashmere? Two are: the women's Pure Cashmere Scarf and the Men's 100% Mongolian Cashmere Scarf. The other three are blends, and the split is in each product name: 50% cashmere and 50% silk, 40% cashmere and 60% wool, and 60% Australian wool and 40% cashmere.
How do I wash a cashmere scarf? By hand in cool water with a gentle wool and cashmere wash, or dry clean. Press the water out without wringing, roll it in a towel, then dry it flat in the shade. Do not tumble dry. Always follow the care label on your scarf.
Can I get a colour that is not shown? The two pure cashmere scarves can be made to order in a colour from our colour chart, in about three weeks from when we confirm your order. You can order by email, by phone or in the shop. For the blends, please ask us.
