Warm things, chosen well, for more than twenty years.
Melbourne winters have a way of getting into your bones. More than twenty years ago we opened a small shop with one aim: to help people here get through the cold in clothes that are genuinely warm, and genuinely good.
That aim decided where our cashmere comes from. We looked widely and kept coming back to Inner Mongolia, where the fibre is fine, soft and resilient enough to hold its shape season after season. We have worked with the same mill there for 22 years. They know how we like our knits made, and we know what to expect when each new season's pieces arrive.
A Melbourne year is not all winter, though. So we added silk – dresses, light tops and, most recently, qipao – for warm days and cool evenings. To us, being warm and looking beautiful have never been an either-or.
Much of what we do still happens face to face. At our store at The Glen you can try things on, talk through sizing, or ask for a piece made in the colour or size you are after; made-to-order knits take about three weeks. If it is a present, we will gift wrap it for $20.
